James Mane is a stand-up comedian, actor, podcast host, and Hawaii producer for Don’t Tell Comedy. Born in American Samoa and raised in Aiea, Hawaii, Mane brings a sharp and original point of view to the stage, blending smart island-style comedy with fearless storytelling about Samoan culture, local life, family, and the modern Hawaii experience.

Mane was featured in Forbes as one of “12 Rising AAPI Stand-Up Comedians To Watch” and made history as the first Samoan comedian to perform a featured stand-up set on North American television with his appearance on First Nations Comedy Experience on FNX, which aired across the United States and Canada and is now streaming on Amazon Prime.

He co-starred in the Adult Swim series Decker, playing Lanoi Arnold, the unofficial king of Hawaii. Early in his career, Hawaii comedy legend Andy Bumatai praised Mane’s debut performance as one of the best he had ever seen. Mane later toured with Bumatai and co-hosted The Daily Pidgin podcast.

A pioneer in Hawaii’s comedy podcast scene, Mane co-created Guys With Issues, one of the state’s early comedy podcasts, producing more than 100 episodes. He currently hosts 808 Viral: The Podcast!, a Hawaii-based comedy podcast breaking down viral videos, local news, and current events with jokes first, takes second.

Mane has shared the stage with Dave Chappelle, Bert Kreischer, Ronny Chieng, Patton Oswalt, Wanda Sykes, and Amy Schumer. He has performed at respected comedy venues across the country, including The World Famous Comedy Store in Hollywood, LA Comedy Club in Las Vegas, Helium Comedy Club in Portland, The Function Comedy Club in San Francisco, Nate Jackson’s Super Funny Comedy Club in Tacoma, and Blue Note Hawaii.

Mane has headlined Nate Jackson’s Super Funny Comedy Club and sold out shows at Blue Note Hawaii and The Function Comedy Club in San Francisco. As the Hawaii producer for Don’t Tell Comedy, he brings high-quality comedy experiences to unexpected venues across the islands while helping grow Hawaii’s live comedy scene.

With a comedy style rooted in culture, family, food, sports, and everyday observations, Mane connects with Hawaii locals, Pacific Islanders, mainland Hawaiians, and comedy fans looking for a fresh voice with a strong point of view. He continues to perform at clubs, theaters, and special events across Hawaii and the continental United States.
